It is also helped by the fact you are a core developer and we trust you to be here to do maintenance :) I'd add that decimal is a fairly specialized module and the implications of a new engine are not as wide-reaching as a new regex engine. Especially if the pure Python version is still there. I think it's still probably a good idea to probe python-dev, if that hasn't already happened. |
