I changed the title to make my intent more explicit: the goal is to make os.urandom() more secure on Linux by always using getrandom(). But always using getrandom() in os.urandom() requires a non-blocking os.urandom() to start Python: see #25420 (import random) and #26839 (hash secret) for practical issues. I removed Python 3.5 from versions since Larry explicitly asked to not add a new parameter to os.urandom() in Python 3.5: msg267721. |
