I think right now we can > Change mode() to return the first tie instead of raising an exception. This is a behavior change but leaves you with the cleanest API going forward. as well as > Add a Deprecation warning to the current behavior of mode() when it finds multimodal data. In Python 3.9, we change the behavior.
