Any update regarding this? We switched to lxml to make life easier but it would be useful if this functionality also was implemented in the standard library. Wishlist: 1. Flag to ignore all namespaces during find(). 2. Ability to set default namespace the during find(). 3. Clear existing namespaces similar to lxml cleanup_namespaces.
