I think the proper approach for the buffered IO classes would be to use a fixed-size buffer which never gets reallocated. If you look at bufferedwriter2.patch in #3476, I had rewritten BufferedWriter using a fixed-size buffer (although not for performance reasons), I think it would be a good starting point for a C implementation. |
