Eric: I'm guessing the error you're seeing might be due to a UAC issue (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control). I've been developing with UAC disabled (because working with the command-line in a UAC environment is a bit**). Can you confirm that you're running your python.exe with Administrative privileges (and not just an Administrators account that's been demoted)? If you're launching Python.exe from a command-prompt, you may want to launch the prompt with "Run as Administrator". I'm hoping that will straighten out this permission issue. I look forward to your reply.
