Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped | Sovereign Cloud
Disconnected sovereign cloud solution
Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped is a fully managed experience for organizations requiring complete isolation to meet stringent sovereignty and regulatory requirements.
Features
Leading AI capabilities
Gemini is now available on GDC. Gemini’s advanced reasoning and state-of-the-art generation capabilities on GDC unlock key generative AI capabilities, including automation, content generation, discovery, and summarization on-premises.
Customers can also use built-in AI solutions, such as Translation API, Speech-to-Text, or optical character recognition (OCR), which are features of our leading Vertex AI platform.
Full isolation
Operate fully disconnected, while still integrating Google's AI capabilities, for your classified data and workloads. The solution does not require connectivity to Google Cloud or the public internet to manage the infrastructure, services, APIs, or tooling, and is built to remain disconnected in perpetuity. It is designed to support strict requirements in alignment with NIST SP 800-53-FedRAMP high security controls.
Supportable compliance standards
Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped provides robust support for stringent security and regulatory needs. It meets technical requirements of standards like ISO 27001/27017, SOC II, ISMAP, NIST, NATO D48, and more. Deploy sensitive workloads in an isolated and secure environment, ensuring both data sovereignty and privacy without external network connectivity.
Integrated cloud services
Google Distributed Cloud air-gapped delivers many of our advanced cloud services. The solution is built to be extensible and enables a catalog of independent software vendors' (ISVs) applications through our marketplace.
Configurable operations
While the technology at the core of every Google Distributed Cloud deployment is the same, the operating model can be configured to each customer’s unique needs. Customers enjoy a consistent developer experience and access to a robust set of managed services, while being able to tailor deployment and operations to address their specific requirements. Google Distributed Cloud's air-gapped solution can be operated by Google, a trusted partner, or a combination of the two with the ability to customize elements like operator citizenship and clearances.
Flexible hardware options
Google Distributed Cloud provides customers with industry-leading flexibility for hardware, including general purpose compute and GPUs. Customers can start small with an appliance or as few as four racks and grow to hundreds as their workloads grow. The air-gapped offering provides a fully redundant, high-availability architecture for mission-critical systems.
Open ecosystem
Google Distributed Cloud is designed around Google Cloud’s open cloud strategy. It is built on the Kubernetes API, and uses industry-leading open source components in the platform and managed services. Open software accelerates developer adoption by leveraging existing expertise and tools versus requiring customers to learn new, proprietary systems.
How It Works
Google Distributed Cloud is a fully managed software and hardware solution for data centers and edge locations to address regulatory, local data processing, survivability, and low-latency needs.
Common Uses
AI offline visual and audio translation
Build in secure environments with AI-enabled translation
Use the latest optical character recognition and speech-to-text technologies developed by Google Cloud while running in a fully disconnected environment for live translation of text within images, PDFs, or audio files. The translated text is summarized within the UI and available for download, reducing the need for manual transcription and translation while also saving valuable time and resources.
