The Creature Commandos are a special military unit under Project M (short for Project Monster) composed of supposedly-supernatural monsters that were actually created by unknown scientific means. Their original membership during World War II included human leader Matthew Shrieve, the Frankenstein-esque Elliot Taylor, the vampire Vincent Velcro, the werewolf Warren Griffith, and the gorgon Myrra Rhodes.

The modern incarnation of the team operates in the present day as agents of S.H.A.D.E., with Frankenstein as their leader.
