Silas Stone is a brilliant scientist and the father of the superhero Cyborg. His son Victor was in a horrible accident that Silas was responsible for, and Silas rebuilt him using machine parts. This connection has made Silas an important figure to the Teen Titans and later the Justice League. Victor has had trouble forgiving his father for turning him into a machine, and their relationship is strained.
