Dzhimara

 

(or Dzhimarai-Khokh, or Gimarai-Khokh), a mountain peak of the Greater Caucasus, 9 km west of Mount Kazbek. Elevation, 4,780 m. It is composed of clay shale, metamorphic rock, and diabase and is covered by snow and ice (frozen area, 37 sq km). Glaciers descend from the slopes of Dzhimara: Midagrabin to the west, and Savitisi to the south.
