Pap

 

an urban-type settlement and administrative center of Pap Raion, Namangan Oblast, Uzbek SSR. Population, 7,500 (1974). Situated on the right bank of the Syr Darya River (3 km from the river), Pap is 3 km from the Pap railroad station on the Kokand-Uchkurgan line and 57 km southwest of Namangan. It has a bread bakery and an enterprise servicing motor vehicles. In the surrounding area, there is a building-supplies factory and a cotton-ginning plant.
