A species of jellyfish. Attacks with NumbSpikes and Giga Volt.

The Aspiran, also known as Aspik, is an enemy in Final Fantasy VI. It is highly recommended to take it down with physical attacks, lest it takes down a party member with the powerful Gigavolt ability.

Its Rage is useful for Gau, as Gigavolt is a decently high-power spell.

It is the toughest enemy in the Serpent Trench, as it has a 1/3 chance of countering any damage not inflicted by the Attack command with Gigavolt, which is very powerful and could possibly KO a party member even if they are at full HP. It is recommended to simply use physical attacks, or have Gau use the Belmodar or Spritzer Rage so he can absorb Gigavolt. Besides this lethal skill, they are not terribly dangerous and have fairly low HP.
