Blasting Zone (ブラスティングゾーン, Burasutingu Zōn?) is a recurring ability in the Final Fantasy series. It is one of Squall Leonhart's trademark attacks, and is executed by Squall holding his weapon over his head to summon a large aura of energy around it, then swinging it downward.

Final Fantasy VIII[]

Blasting Zone is Squall's third finishing blow for Renzokuken, executed once he upgrades his gunblade to the Flame Saber or better. It damages all enemies.

Final Fantasy XIV[]

Blasting Zone is a Gunbreaker Gunbreaker ability. It is the upgraded form of Danger Zone Danger Zone, and deals massive damage on a long cooldown.

The Fatebreaker uses Blasting Zone in Eden's Promise: Anamorphosis Eden's Promise: Anamorphosis during the Prismatic Deception intermission, instantly killing anyone caught in his three clones' line AoEs. He also uses it to the same effect in Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) Futures Rewritten (Ultimate) during the Utopian Sky intermission.

Dissidia Final Fantasy (2008)[]

Blasting Zone is one of Squall's HP attacks, learned at Level 28. Squall creates a blade of energy over his head and swings it into the ground to drag aerial opponents downwards. Blasting Zone requires 300 AP to master and 40 CP to equip.

Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy[]

Blasting Zone is one of Squall's HP attacks, learned at level 16. As a balancing change, Squall turns to track opponents as they move on start-up before slamming the blade of energy down.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT[]

Blasting Zone is an HP attack for Squall, unlocked at character lv. 5. It sends a massive blade of light towards a foe. Charging increases its range.

Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia[]

Blasting Zone is Squall's Finishing Burst, learned by equipping Squall's Burst-tier weapon, Blasting Edge or his equipment passive ability, Flash to Sever All. It is a 15-hit AoE BRV+HP attack which deals proportionate HP damage to all targets.

Blasting Zone is an ability learned by Squall at level 75 (6★). It costs 48 MP and deals 1 hit of physical damage with a modifier of 3x that ignores 50% DEF to all enemies. In addition, it increases the damage modifier of all Keen Edges by 1.5x which cannot be dispelled for 5 turns to the caster.

Blasting Zone is an ability learned by Squall (WoFF) at level 75 (5★). It costs 24 LB to use and, when fully enhanced, deals 10 hits of physical damage with a modifier of 50x that ignores 50% DEF to all enemies, in addition to increases LB gauge by 12 to caster. It uses the Stardust Ray chaining family.

Blasting Zone is the Limit Burst for Lone Lion Squall. At max rarity and fully powered, it deals 1 hit of physical damage with a modifier of 120x that ignores 50% DEF, reduces DEF/SPR by 87% for 1 turns, and reduces Fire and Dark resistance by 130% for 1 turn to one enemy. In addition, it increases physical damage done to beasts and humans by 150% for 1 turn to the caster.
