The Dolmen is an enemy in Final Fantasy X-2 found in Besaid, Kilika Woods, Mushroom Rock Road, Djose Highroad, the Road to the Farplane, and Cloisters 44 to 46 of the Via Infinito. It is a brown and yellow-colored version of the Tomb.
Stats[]
Battle[]
Dolmens are dangerous enemies, as they can petrify the entire party, resulting in a Game Over if the party is not protected or at least one character is not outside of the Dolmen's 120 degree angle field of view. Their physical attacks can also inflict status ailments.
Strategy[]
The status ailments Dolmens inflict should be cured by using a Remedy or Esuna spell. It is best to tackle these enemies using DEF Down to lower their defenses for physical attacks, or by simply using Ice-elemental attacks, such as Ice Brand or Blizzaga, to take them down. Blessed Gems also work well here, as do equipping accessories and Garment Grids that protect against Petrification and employing powerful captured creatures.
Creature Creator[]
Dolmen is available for capture in Chapter 5 after completing the Tomb's fiend tale. Like with the Tomb, the Dolmen has already learned Attack, Stone Breath, Madness (damages one enemy and inflicts statuses on them), and Ailment Def., and can further learn Total Limit Break from a powerful enemy like Humbaba or Gippal in the Fiend Arena.
Completing the Dolmen's fiend tale and entering the Farplane Abyss at least once unlocks the Monolith for capture. Simply defeating Shiva in the Road to the Farplane and then returning to the Celsius is sufficient enough to unlock the Monolith for capture.
Fiend Tale[]

Fiend has no life readings!
Shinra Analysis:
The fiend seems to be a key for unlocking something... The creature is totally unresponsive, so it's impossible to tell if it's living or dead. - ANALYSIS FAILED
Fiend has no life readings!
Shinra Analysis:
This key opens the seal holding in "The Traitor of the Fiend World." Freeing this fiend would mean freeing the traitor of the fiend world... Going further than this...might be very dangerous...
Behind the scenes[]
When viewing the Bestiary in the Creature Creator menu, the portraits for the Dolmen and Monolith are incorrectly swapped, with the Dolmen using the Monolith's portrait and vice versa.
Etymology[]
[view · edit · purge]A dolmen, also known as a portal tomb, portal grave or quoit, is a type of single-chamber megalithic tomb usually consisting of two or more upright stones supporting a flat horizontal capstone (table), although more complex variants exist. Most date from the early Neolithic period (4000 to 3000 BC). Dolmens were typically covered with earth or smaller stones to form a barrow. In many instances, that covering has weathered away, leaving only the stone "skeleton" of the burial mound intact.
