Extinct Beast is an errand in Final Fantasy Tactics, available from chapter 4, "In the Name of Love" in Eagrose Castle. It is commissioned by an Eagrose resident. Completing this errand makes a follow-up errand available in Eagrose Castle.

The errand will take 14—15 days, costs 1000 gil, but does not offer a specific reward even if successful beyond the JP earned by the participants. The best-suited jobs for the errand are the samurai and the ninja, and sending a monk boosts the success chance dramatically, however, errands will succeed if the player sends any three units for the maximum amount of days.

A chimera—a beast long thought to have gone extinct—has appeared in our town and the people are afeared. Please rid us of this monster.

The chimera, a monster thought extinct, had indeed reappeared in the Eagrose region, prompting the locals to seek help. We set out to eliminate the abomination; a foul creation bearing the features of numerous beasts thought to have been wrought in ancient times. It seemed unlikely that nature had revived the creature, and many believed that some forgotten sorcery had brought it back. After a lengthy battle, we managed to fell the beast.

Completing the errand makes "Metamorphosed Misery" errand available in Eagrose Castle.
