The Kirin (キリン or 麒麟, Kirin?), also known as the Ki-Rin or Qilin, is a recurring creature in the Final Fantasy series, first appearing in The Final Fantasy Legend. Most frequently appearing as a summoned monster, it is a creature typically resembling a draconic horse or chimera whose Holy Aura can bestow Regen upon its allies.

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years[]
The Kirin appears a boss encountered as the last challenge at the end of the first Lunarian's Challenge Dungeon.
Final Fantasy VI[]
The Kirin appears as an esper who can be used as a magicite. Its summon ability, Holy Aura, costs 18 MP to cast, and casts Regen on the entire player party. It teaches Cure (x5), Cura (x1), Regen (x3), Poisona (x4), and Libra (x5).
Final Fantasy XI[]
The Kirin appears as a notorious monster manticore encountered deep within the Shrine of Ru'Avitau. It is the master of the Shijin, and in order to battle it players must obtain seals from defeating all four Shijin. The Qilin is a similar creature encountered during the Voidwatch quest "Skyward Ho, Voidwatcher!" Defeating them grants the Kirin Captivator and Qilin Contravener titles respectively.
Final Fantasy XIV[]
The Kirin appears as a mount rewarded from
A Legend for a Legend. The quest can be obtained by collecting all horse mounts from A Realm Reborn's Extreme-difficulty trials. The auspice Koryu appears to be a kirin.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance[]
The Kirin appears as a summon which grants Regen in the target area. The Summoner can learn it from the Cure Staff for 200 AP and costs 18 MP to cast.
Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift[]
The Kirin appears as a summon which grants Regen to all units in a large target area, within a range of 4 tiles from the caster. It can be learned once again by the Summoner from the Healing Staff for 250 AP and costs 16 MP to cast.
