Description

Slide and Slide is a synergy skill in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, used by Tifa Lockhart with either Cloud Strife, Aerith Gainsborough, Yuffie Kisaragi, or Cait Sith. It is one of her two defensive synergy skills, and unlocked from her folio when the party level is 2. The skill causes her to evade an attack and counterstrike.

In the ability's animation, Tifa jumps onto her partner supporting her, then performs a sliding kick forward.

Slide and Slide is one of Tifa's two synergy skills alongside Bodyguard, which has a very different effect and does not perform a counterstrike.

Use[]

Slide and Slide serves as an alternative both to Tifa's dodge roll, and for her Focused Strike ability. Slip and Slide differs from her dodge roll in having slightly longer range and performing a counterstrike, but requires the partner to be available. It is inferior to Focused Strike, which deals more damage, boosts stagger gauges, and has a greater leap back for evasion, but costs an ATB charge.

The other defensive synergy skill for Tifa, Bodyguard, will cause her synergy partner to block for her, interrupting them and rendering them immobile for a short duration. This is a more defensively solid move for Tifa as it will block an attack against her completely without requiring her to guard herself. However, it does not have a follow-up attack like Slip and Slide does, meaning it will interrupt her flow of attacks against an opponent.
