The Valiant Knife (バリアントナイフ, Barianto Naifu?) is a recurring high-ranked knife in the Final Fantasy series.

Final Fantasy VI[]
The Valiant Knife is a mid-ranked dagger for Locke. It has an attack power of 145, gives +10% Evasion, and enables the Runic command (although Locke cannot use Runic). It can be obtained by re-recruiting Locke from the Phoenix Cave. It is a unique and powerful weapon in that it deals more damage the lower Locke's HP is, ignores the enemy's Defense stat and Protect, and ignores the penalty of the Master's Scroll relic. In Pixel Remaster, only the non-HP reliant part of the damage will be doubled on a critical hit.
Only one Valiant Knife exists, and it cannot be thrown.
It deals normal damage as per its attack stat (see here) while ignoring defense and Protect as mentioned, with bonus damage equal to (Max HP - Current HP).
Final Fantasy XI[]
The Valiant Knife is a level 69 dagger with decidedly mediocre damage of 24 and delay 195, but with a hidden effect of dealing increasing bonus damage as the user's HP drops. At less than 1% of maximum HP, it is the best dagger in its level range, but surviving in such a state is likely to be difficult at best. It drops off the Notorious Monster Lindwurm in Ifrit's Cauldron.
