Shield parted per fess wavy of Gules and Or, issuant from base a grain ear flanked by two bulrushes, all in counterchanged colours, in base at both edges a trefoil.
Meaning:
Grain ears and bulrushes are representing the settlements of Sustrum: Sustrum, Neusustrum and Sustrum-Moor. Red and yellow had been the colours of the family arms of the Lower Collegiate, it is the northern part of the Bishopric of Mü�nster, to which Sustrum belonged from 1252 to 1803.
