IDLE has historically maintained its own NEWS file, and it is now accessible from IDLE's Help/About menu. Maintaining this file has the advantage that all the IDLE NEWS is kept in one place and is easily parsable for display. Do we want to continue this tradition or merge IDLE NEWS into Python NEWS on a go-forward basis? Second, do we want to continue the IDLE versioning (currently 1.0) or just drop it now that IDLE is no longer distributed separately? -- KBK
