Agreed. As a SQL user, it feels like a no-brainer to me, as well. I'd love to see a DB-API compliant module, and an embedded SQL database, in the core. I don't believe that there's anything comparable to (py)sqlite on that score. And as Anthony pointed out, it provides a nice upgrade path to "bigger" SQL/DB-API solutions. +1 from me. Paul.
