PIL anim gif

I recently had to create some animated GIFs.
I used PIL to create the individual frames.
Then I used a 3rd-party command-line utility
to create the animations:
   WhirlGif 2.01
   http://www.msg.net/utility/whirlgif/ 
I built it on both NT and AIX with no problem.
I could supply NT executable and sample python
scripts on request.

My only complaint is that PIL can't produce
compressed GIFs. Maybe the new version of
PIL (due this weekend?) will have more
GIF animation support.

Hi All

How to make an animated gif from several Image
objects in PIL? According to the docu, it seems,
that it can only anim gifs which are such already.
