Hello! I run python 1.5.1 and (mostly) 1.5.2 on many computers with different hardware and/or software configurations, among them there are Linux 2.0.36 (RedHat 5.1 and (mostly) Debian 2.1). I write hundreds of programs and CGIs and haven't found any minor problem with Python. (But I've never touched the programs you mentioned.) Run stress-tests on you hardware, esp. memory...
