Hello Pythoneers, Stackless Python and Continuations have been around for some time now. It has been used by Will Ware and Just van Rossum, to build microthreads upon. Today, I'm happy to announce the first upcoming commercial application for Stackless Python: Crowd Control Productions is developing a so-called MMPOG (massively-multiplayer, online game). The name is EVE, and it appears to become a really great space game, creating visible virtual worlds that are populated by the whole playing community. They are still in the planning and evaluation phase, but the decision for Python and UThreads via Continuations has been drawn. Have a look at the bottom of this page: http://www.eve-online.com/thegame_faq_08.html Many thanks to Hilmar Veigar Petursson from CCP for setting links to Pythons and the Stackless Homepage. I will back-link to them very soon, and they get free support. cheers - chris -- Christian Tismer :^) <mailto:tismer at appliedbiometrics.com> Applied Biometrics GmbH : Have a break!
