In win32com\client\__init__.py: Line 361 (or near) should be changed from: elif UnicodeType==type(obj): to elif NeedUnicodeConversions and UnicodeType==type(obj): (if not at that line, a line very similar). Or, get the latest .py file from CVS. This change removed one last str() conversion win32com did automatically for you (and still does in 1.5 builds) Mark.
