You are right, thanks. Numeric 21 is out now by the way. I missed fromstring(), because it is not a method on the array object, as in the build in type. Which documentation are you using? The most recent I can find is this http://www.pfdubois.com/numpy/html2/numpy-9.html#pgfId-36538 I hate to complain so much :-), but why do they not distribute it with the module itself. Also, I think it should be updated. Cheers Jesper
