Thanks for your reply; however, I know how to do indents and dedents in vim, the problem is more how to map Shift-Tab to do the dedent. The reason is simply that I have been using it for years and don't want to unlearn it and get used to a different key combination. :( I'll see if I can do something with the key combinations you mentioned.
