interface used : MySQL-python-0.9.1

Error: invalid distribution option 'platforms'

sys.platform = 'win32'
os.name = 'nt'

python version = 2.0
mysql version = 3.23.28-gamma

python base dir d:\python20
mysql base dir c:\mysql



please help me. I tried every thing i know but it wont work.
whe i tried to execute the code by

python setup.py install


the error

 invalid distribution option 'platforms'

is shown.
