I would strongly recommend going back a bit in the tutorial and
reading about functions:

http://docs.python.org/tutorial/controlflow.html#defining-functions

And unless you have a particular need for Python 2, consider learning
the current Python version instead:

http://docs.python.org/py3k/tutorial/index.html
