This bionic arm was originally developed by Department X with schematics for robotic appendages stolen from MI-6. The very first prototype was used to replace Bucky Barnes's lost arm, giving Department X the clearance to begin working on the Winter Soldier Project.^[1]

	In Earth-199999, James Buchanan Barnes was given a titanium prosthetic arm by Hydra. This arm was destroyed by Iron Man when seeking revenge against Winter Soldier. He was later given a Vibranium prosthetic by Black Panther. This version had a failsafe where it would detach when a certain combination was pressed into it. Seven years later, the arm was stolen by Nebula, who gave it to Rocket as a Christmas present. Less than a year later, Bucky was seen sporting a new arm.	Captain America: The Winter Soldier
	In Earth-TRN1444, Winter Soldier was captured by Hydra. They stole his bionic arm and conducted experiments on him that resulted in tentacles sprouting from his left stub.
