Mumbai was a city located in India on Earth. It was historically known as Bombay. In the 32nd century, it was the site of a deep space shuttle port.

For the All-Worlds Day break in 3196, Genesis Lythe was due to meet her father at the shuttle port in Mumbai. However, she sneaked back to the USS Athena shortly after departing. (SA: "Ko'Zeine")
A coat of arms of Bombay was included in an unseen portion of the Picard family album, somewhat puzzlingly adorning a letter from Louis of France. It includes the latin inscription "Urbs Prima In Indis" (First City in India).
