Bullet holes in the wall

A bullet hole was an opening in an object left behind after a bullet had passed through.

The wall of Sherlock Holmes's residence at 221B Baker Street had the initials "V.R." (for "Victoria Regina") written on it in bullet holes. (TNG: "Elementary, Dear Data")

In 2375, Miles O'Brien successfully fired a TR-116 at a melon in the next room. Unaware that the weapon utilized transporter technology, Ezri Dax questioned how that could be the case, as she didn't see any bullet holes. (DS9: "Field of Fire")
