The carapaces of Diggers
A carapace was the hard external covering of a Digger, a burrowing animal native to the planet Terra Nova.
In 2151, Captain Jonathan Archer and Lieutenant Malcolm Reed discovered the gutting room of the Novans which included bowls of digger meat, skeletal remains, skulls, and several carapaces. The Novans wore these carapaces as body armor. (ENT: "Terra Nova")
