Regula I was a Federation Regula I-type scientific research laboratory orbiting the D-class planetoid Regula during the late 23rd century.
Located in the Mutara sector of the Beta Quadrant, Regula I was near the Mutara Nebula. The Ceti Alpha system was three days away at warp speed.
In the year 2285, the station housed Project Genesis and its team under the direction of Dr. Carol Marcus.
Using the USS Reliant in 2285, the station was attacked by Khan Noonien Singh in his attempt to steal the Genesis Device and lure Admiral James T. Kirk into a trap. Kirk captained the USS Enterprise and came to the station to investigate and rescue the remaining personnel. (Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan)
