Station log
A station log was a type of log used on board space stations to record the events which happened on them. It was primarily used by the commanding officer if holding the rank of commander or lower.
Commander Benjamin Sisko recorded in the station log aboard Deep Space 9 until 2371 when he was promoted to captain. (DS9: "The Adversary")
Lieutenant junior grade Aquiel Uhnari made entries in the station log of Relay Station 47 in 2369. (TNG: "Aquiel")
The same year Quark broke into the station log of Deep Space 9 with a level four security clearance to find out where the Rakhari criminal Croden was after the Miradorn Ah-Kel threatened him. (DS9: "Vortex")
