Ursa Major

Ursa Major (Latin for large bear) was a circumpolar constellation visible from Earth's northern hemisphere. This constellation included the asterism the Big Dipper and the stars Alkaid, Dubhe, and Mizar. Astronomical objects in this constellation were located in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants. The name of this constellation was derived from 61 Ursae Majoris' Bayer designation. In Bayer designation, the name begins with a Greek letter followed by a genitive of the constellation's name.
