Xendi Sabu system

The Xendi Sabu system was an inhabited planetary system in the Alpha Quadrant. This system was near the Maxia Zeta system.

Components[]

Stellar system[]

This was a single star system with the red dwarf Xendi Sabu as the primary of this system.

Planetary system[]

In this system, there were at least 9 planets.

History[]

Daimon Bok claimed that his ship discovered the USS Stargazer adrift at the far edge of this system in 2364. Soon after, the Ferengi made a request to Starfleet that a rendezvous with the USS Enterprise-D be arranged. The Federation starship was ordered to this system, and, while there, ownership of the Stargazer was transferred over to the Enterprise-D by the Ferengi. (TNG: "The Battle")

Stellar cartography[]

In 3195, this system's position was labeled on a Federation star chart which was displayed in Starfleet Academy's Stellar Cartography laboratory. (SA: "Beta Test")

Later that year, this system's position was labeled on a Federation star chart which was displayed on the bridge of the USS Athena. (SA: "Come, Let's Away")

Background information[]

The quadrant of origin for this system was inferred based on the location of Maxia in star charts and that the Stargazer supposedly for 9 years drifted to this system from Maxia, implying how close the two systems were.

In both Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion, 2nd ed., p. 294 and the Star Trek Encyclopedia, 3rd ed., p. 568, it was stated that the Xendi Kabu system from "Bloodlines" was intended to be the same system; the name was mistakenly changed in a late draft of that episode's script.

In the Star Trek: Star Charts ("United Federation of Planets I") and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), the primary was classified as a M-class star.

The name of the system's primary came from StarTrek.com. [1](X)

It was not stated in the episode whether Xendi Starbase 9 was in the Xendi Sabu system, or in another system close by.
