Biology and specifics[]

Animal canines were typically quadrupedal. Besides typical mammalian features, they included a long snout with sharp teeth; moveable ears on the head, and a tail. Canines like dogs were social creatures and could bond with Humans, a type of sentient primate. In the 22nd century, Jonathan Archer kept the dog Porthos as pet.
