The Fe'rang class was a 25th century Fek'Ihri starship class, a dreadnought carrier in Fek'Ihri Horde service from the 2410s decade. The class was acquired by the Klingon Empire, and subsequently deployed by Khitomer Alliance military forces. (STO website: Awakening: Command the Fek'Ihri Fe'rang!)
Service history and specifications[]
Launched before the Fe'rang, the S'torr-class warship was a Fek'Ihri design that incorporated highly specialized technology that the Horde had used to haunt the Klingons for centuries.
A starship trait that commanders with experience using a S'torr could employ was called "Maw of Gre'thor". This "trick" of using the ship's tech allowed the captain to travel at full throttle while periodically exuding massive bursts of fire in the ship's wake. The Fe'rang, a dreadnought with carrier capacities in the form of a pair of hangar bays, was developed in the warship's wake. It's abilities included "open the Maw of Gre'thor" and "fiery entrance", allowing the Fe'rang to damage enemy vessels with fire. (STO website: Awakening: Command the Fek'Ihri Fe'rang!)
As with previous Fek'Ihri ships, the Klingon Defense Force captured and repurposed some of these warships in 2410. In Wonderland year 2018, q offered Fe'rang-class dreadnought carriers as a reward to commanding officers for entertaining him in his Winter Wonderland. In the year 2411, WW year 2020, q now offered the Horde's new Gok'tad-class science carrier. It was a variant of the Kar'Fi-class battle carrier, which the KDF subsequently made available to other Khitomer Alliance forces. (STO website: House Shattered: Q's Winter Wonderland!)

In the 25th century, the design of the Fe'rang-class dreadnought carrier allowed its commanding officer to choose from different designs of hull materials, which could be modified further at shipyards. (STO - Klingon War mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")
Furthermore, the installation of deflector shields from specific factions modified the hull appearance, including shields from the Reman Resistance, the Breen Confederacy and the Dominion. (STO missions: "Coliseum", "Cold Storage", "Boldly They Rode")
