Hyman George Rickover (27 January 1900–8 July 1986) was a 20th century Human, an immigrant of Jewish descent who established himself as a citizen of the United States of America.

Biography[]

In a career as a Navy flag officer, Admiral Rickover was largely responsible for the creation of Earth's nuclear fission-powered navy. He served in the Navy for sixty-three years, before being forced into retirement.

In the year 2290, one of the USS Excelsior's shuttlecraft was named the Hyman Rickover. A number of other vessels have also borne the name "Rickover". (ST novel: Excelsior: Forged in Fire)
