Katumbe was a 23rd century Human man, a member of Starfleet in the 2250s decade of the Kelvin timeline.
Biography[]
In the year 2258, Katumbe was serving aboard the Federation starship USS Enterprise as an enlisted member of security. When the ship was set upon by the dark energy phenomenon which was referred to as "wights", Katumbe was trapped in a turbolift on a deck that experienced power loss due to the negative energy interference, and was knocked unconscious by the wight forms. James T. Kirk and Spock accessed the turbolift hatch and helped Katumbe and Ensign Dehler out of the elevator. Spock was able to lift Katumbe's entire weight and do a one-armed pull-up out of the turbo car. (TOS novel: More Beautiful Than Death)
