Lucien

Lucien was a long-lived Megan man who was the basis of Earth's mythological devil.

Biography[]

Lucien took the form of a goateed satyr, complete with horns, pointed ears, and hoofed feet.

In the early 17th century, Lucien visited Earth along with fellow Megans. While others of his species were burned during the Salem Witch Trials, Lucien barely escaped with his life, but would be regarded in history as the entity Lucifer.

In the year 2270, the USS Enterprise traveled into the nonspace realm of Megas-Tu, and immediately were met by the gregarious, welcoming Lucien, who nonetheless tried to keep the starship hidden from other Megans. Once exposed, the other Megans put the Enterprise crew on trial for the crimes of humanity. When the prosecutor threatened Lucien with exile, James T. Kirk defended him, demonstrating to the Megans that humanity had evolved over the centuries. (TAS episode & Log Three novelization: The Magicks of Megas-Tu)

Alternate realities[]

In an alternate timeline beset by the temporal anomaly crisis, Lucien was pulled into the late 24th century. Lucien's skills qualified him as an explorer. He was also skilled in the fields of command, diplomacy and science. Among the objects he brought to bear in missions were beer, whisky, and star charts. He could also wield his magic. The unofficial Concordance described him as appearing about 50 years old.
