The Monchezkins were a humanoid alien civilization native to the planet Monchezke in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant. (SA - Starfleet Academy comic: "Issue 2")
History and specifications[]
While the Monchezkin body plan was roughly humanoid, they could appear taller than average humanoids. The species had an electro-chemical hive mind which tended to cause them to narrate their every action and sight when traveling abroad in interstellar society. (SA - Starfleet Academy comic: "Issue 2")
The most prominent feature was the large, angular head. Solidly black elongated eyes sat above the noseless nostrils. While the outline of pointy ears was visible, they were level with the skull's flesh. (TOS movie: Star Trek)
In the 2230s decade, Alnschloss K'Bentayr was a Starfleet officer aboard the USS Kelvin. (TOS - Star Trek, Volume 4 comic: "Keenser's Story")
Kelvin timeline[]
In the year 2233, K'Bentayr was on the bridge during the Attack on the Kelvin by the pro-chronistic Romulan terrorist Nero. (TOS movie, novelization & comic adaptation: Star Trek)
Aboard the Mueller.
In 2258, an operations division member served in the crew of the USS Mueller. (TOS - Legacy of Spock comic: "Part 1")
From 2258, Vel K'Bentayr attended Starfleet Academy. (SA - Starfleet Academy comic: "Issue 2")
In an alternate version of the Kelvin timeline, a Monchezkin served as navigator on the USS Enterprise under Christopher Pike in 2262. (TOS - Boldly Go - IDIC comic: "Part 1")
Assimilated Monchezkin.
At least one Monchezkin was assimilated by the Borg in 2263 when the Borg Collective invaded the Neutral Zone. (ST video game: Fleet Command)
