New Mexico

New Mexico is an area located in the United States of America, in North America on the planet Earth.

History and specifics[]

In 1926, a folsom point arrowhead was discovered in New Mexico. In 2266, Spock recalled the archeological discovery when Reese Latimer was killed by a giant spear with a similar tip. (TOS episode & novelization: The Galileo Seven)

In the 1930s decade, severe dust storms prevented farming in New Mexico and other plains states, making life there a struggle. (TOS - Crucible novel: Provenance of Shadows)

In 1947, a Ferengi ship carrying Quark, Rom, Nog, and Odo — who had hidden on board the ship to catch Quark in the act of smuggling kemacite — crashed in the desert near Roswell after accidentally traveling 400 years back into the past. (DS9 episode: "Little Green Men")

The San Lobos Atomic Research Facility, headquarters for the 1970s-era Project Hercules, was located near the city of Albuquerque, New Mexico. (TOS - Star Trek: Assignment: Earth comic: "Brighter Than a Thousand Suns")

In December 1984, Gary Seven offered to set up Wilson Evergreen with a new identity in New Mexico after the immortal had been stabbed to "death" by a young Khan Noonien Singh and then revived. (TOS novel: The Rise and Fall of Khan Noonien Singh, Volume 1)

Nick Keller grew up on a ranch in New Mexico. (TOS - New Earth novel: Challenger)

In the continuity of the novel The Final Reflection, at least some of New Mexico's territory has been incorporated into a new state named Cibola.
