Nukara

Nukara was a star system in the Boreth sector, Eta Eridana sector block, located between Federation and Klingon Empire space in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant.

History and specifics[]

The Nukara system's orbit was the location of several planets. Second planet Nukara Prime was rife with spacial rifts, some of which connected to an iteration of the mirror universe. (STO - Star Trek Magazine short story: "Mirror Image, Part 1")

It was a binary star system consisting of two class K orange stars and at least four planets. In 2409, while in the system to survey fourth planet Nukara IV, the Tuffli-class science vessel SS Mauss diverted to investigate the rifts and was subsequently destroyed by a Tholian invasion force. The USS Alliance recovered her logs, alerting Starfleet to the Tholian presence in the system. (STO - Under Siege mission: "Tholian Incursion", Season 6 Dev Blog #8 at the Arc Games website.)

The Tholians were successfully driven out of Nukara after they'd captured a number of mirror universe starships, and the USS Morgan began returning ships' personnel to their home universe. Captain Va'Kel Shon traveled to Nukara aboard the USS Enterprise-F's captain's yacht Thelasa to interview his counterpart Val Shon. (STO - Star Trek Magazine short story: "Mirror Image, Part 1")
