NE Sector Intelligence

Intelligence Sector 2 (also known as NE Intelligence) is a Starfleet-designated area which, in the 23rd century, encompassed about a quarter of Federation space, bordering the Starfleet NW Intelligence sector, Starfleet SE Intelligence sector, Starfleet Intelligence Tholian sector and Starfleet Intelligence Gorn sector.
Starfleet Intelligence maintained many bases in this area, which contained many colony and home star systems of Federation members. The central control for these intelligence installations was at Starbase 3. Intelligence units active for this sector in the 23rd century included the Starfleet Intelligence Internal Activities Unit, Starfleet Intelligence Gorn Activities Unit and Starfleet Intelligence Tholian Activities Unit. By the 2280s, seven R1 Informant-class space stations were built in the sector, three in the Gorn sector and four in the Tholian sector. These were used for surveillance, intelligence gathering, counterintelligence and electronic warfare. (FASA RPG module: Regula-1 Orbital Station Deckplans)
