The Tar Chop was a frequently encountered creature, common to the worlds of the Klingon Empire. Often found in sewers or caves, they attacked via bite or sting, and were about a foot long. The sting was mildly poisonous. While not dangerous individually, more than one could kill a Klingon. They climbed aboard any open craft, including starships, and this is presumably how they became widespread in Klingon space. (TNG video game: Klingon Honor Guard)
