The type-5 personnel shuttlecraft was a type of small spacecraft, a shuttlecraft in use by the Federation's Starfleet in the 2330s decade.
History and specifications[]
In the year 2333, the starship USS Stargazer was equipped with two type-5s, as well two type-4 shuttlecraft and a type-3 shuttlecraft. Upon Ensign Jiterica's assignment to Stargazer, Lieutenant Chiang familiarized her with the roster of the vessel's complement of shuttles. Chiang indicated that with the age of the type-3 vehicle causing performance issues, he had requested another type-5 to replace it, although there was a waiting list for new shuttle vehicles of this type.
