Service history[]

Following her graduation from Starfleet Academy in the year 2369, Ensign Hoya was assigned to the Portland as a flight controller. She would spend the next two years aboard before transferring to Deep Space 9. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

In 2371, the Portland was assigned to assist a Cardassian cruiser in helping to search the Algira sector for the missing USS Mekong, which Odo and Elim Garak were aboard. (DS9 episode: "The Die is Cast")

This vessel was presumably named for the U.S. cities Portland, Oregon and Portland, Maine.
