Vassery

Vassery was a 24th century Human man, a flag officer in Starfleet during the 2380s decade and CO of Douglas Station.

Biography[]

In the year 2380, while visiting the USS Cerritos to award medals to Beckett Mariner and Captain Carol Freeman, Mariner made fun of his propensity to mispronounce words to such an extent that she ended up losing her promotion to lieutenant. (LD episode: "Moist Vessel")

In 2381, Freeman joined Vassery aboard the starship Toronto in orbit of Ferenginar to greet Nagus Rom and First Clerk Leeta. (LD episode: "Parth Ferengi's Heart Place")

That year, Vassery was among the Cerritos visitors getting trapped by the malevolent artificial intelligence Badgey on the holodeck. During the lower deckers' effort to earn enough merit points for Badgey to release them, Vassery oversaw a holographic warp core alongside Steve Stevens. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive)

At one point during the simulation, Brad Boimler and D'Vana Tendi were temporarily reassigned to a secret mission drill. Vassery assumed command of the holo-Cerritos, promoted Mariner to XO, and ordered an engineering overhaul of the ship's warp coils. When Boimler was reported lost during negotiations with Gul Madec, Vassery called it unfortunate. Mariner then accused him of having an inferiority complex, being a micromanager, and being incompetent for giving up on a member of the crew. She had Rutherford escort him off the bridge. He initially called this act "holo-insubordination", but later apologized for his overbearing nature after Boimler's rescue. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "Pain of Command")

Boimler dreamed that Vassery rewarded him with a field commission to captain for freeing the crew from Badgey's trap, and then granted him command of a Miranda-class starship, before he was awakened in his bunk by Mariner. (LD video game: The Badgey Directive episode: "Drumming Up Suspects")
